CBD & Endocannabanoid Support

Essential Oils

Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber are the raw materials the body needs to maintain proper function.

It is always best to get nutrition through food first, however even the cleanest diet can have gaps due to depleted soil and the overall quality of our food, which has drastically declined over the last few decades..

Sadly, most people eat the Standard American Diet (SAD), which is virtually void of nutrients. Crops have been genetically modified, soil has been depleted and the amount of toxic chemicals and pesticides has greatly increased.

Since most of us are not getting sufficient nutrients from food, supplementation plays an important role in the overall health picture. Because of an over-fed, under-nourished society, many are malnourished and suffer from severe nutritional deficiencies.

Vitamin D, Collagen, Omega 3's, Magnesium, B12 rank at the top of the list with more than 80% of Americans being deficient.

Diseases attributed to nutrient deficiencies are many including cancer, depression, migraine headaches, infertility, disorders of the Thyroid and mitochondrial disfunction.

All supplements are not created equal and there some important things to be mindful of.

First, don't just start supplementing without the guidance of a licensed professional!

A good rule of thumb is not buy vitamins or supplements at the drug store, or the like. Inexpensive supplements are typically made with synthetic vitamins and toxic substances like artificial flavors, food colorings, soy and fructose. Corn and rice flour are other ingredients to watch for.  These supplements won't be absorbed well and could even cause some unpleasant side effects. Magnesium Oxide is a common example of this. It has poor absorbability and can have a laxative effect.

Here's why it is important to seek guidance before taking vitamins or supplements:

  • To know what vitamins meet your unique needs, and the proper dosage.
  • Best taken with food/without food?
  • Time of day to take them.
  • Ensuring the supplement you are taking is clean, tested for heavy metals and is in an absorbable formulation.

Essential Oils

Plants have been used as food and medicine since the beginning of time.  Unlike synthetic medications, our body knows what to do with plants.

Essential oils are a powerful tool to support the body's natural healing abilities.

Essential oils have an ancient history of healing and are referenced hundreds of times in the Bible. They were the primary medicine used to treat any ailment. Lemon, clove and cinnamon were used for their antiseptic properties. Frankincense, known as the King of Oils, and Myrrh were extremely valuable oils, brought as gifts to Jesus and used in purification rituals.

Today, research has shown the powerful effect Essential oils have on the Central Nervous System. As oils are inhaled, they directly influence the limbic system, the part of the brain that controls memory, heart rate, stress levels, hormone balance and emotions. Essential Oils can provide support for emotional health, digestive health, respiratory health or calming the body and mind.

Essential oils are safe and have a variety of uses in your skin care regimen, your home and for your pets!

What you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it.

Non-petroleum skin-care products, made with essential oils are free from chemicals, synthetic fragrances, dyes and sulfates.

Diffusing essential oils is a safe alternative to toxic air fresheners and candles, to freshen your home without harsh chemicals.  The oils you diffuse  into the air can also influence your mood. You can create an uplifting energetic atmosphere, or one that calms and relaxes you.

Your pets can benefit as well. There are pet-safe oils that can safely be used to help with flea & tick control, pain, stress & anxiety.  Essential oil-infused pet shampoo and conditioner leave your pets coat shiny, soft and smelling great!

Essential oils also provide non-toxic solutions to clean every area of your home from countertops to floors and bathrooms.

As a Certified Essential Oils Coach, I can offer you training and education, so you can begin to enjoy the many benefits Essential oils!

CBD & Endocannabanoid Support

CBD & Endocannabanoid Support

Did you know that we actually produce cannabinoids? The Endocannabinoid is the 13th body system and was only discovered about 40 years ago. When you feel happy or joyful it's because you have produced a compound called Anandamide, a bliss hormone - or cannabinoid. The role of the ECS is  to keep all of our other body systems in balance, or homeostasis.

The ECS is made up of a network of receptors all throughout the body. There are a large amount of these receptors in the brain called CB1 receptors, a large number of receptors reside in the gut as well, these are CB2 receptors. Remember that 80% of your Immune system resides in the gut.

The reason full-spectrum CBD/Hemp products can support such a wide range of health issues is because it interacts with these receptors all throughout the body.

When purchasing a CBD/Hemp supplement, it's extremely important to make sure you it is Full-Spectrum, clean and absorbable.

The Hemp plant contains over 400 chemical compounds and about 100 different cannabinoids. Full-spectrum means you are getting all of the compounds from the plant. This is important because they work synergistically together. A full-spectrum product can also interact with every cannabinoid receptor in your body, providing wide spread benefits.

A CBD isolate product is just the CBD extracted from the plant and none of the other compounds or cannabinoids. This type of product will not provide a wide range of support and the benefits are minimal. This can result in the need to take more, or receive no benefit at all.

As with any supplement, you want to make sure you're going to absorb it.

Most CBD products on the market are an oil-base and the absorption rate is less than 10%. There is also degradation that happens in the liver. Gummies and capsules are not a good option for this reason.

A full-spectrum sublingual and/or topical product will be highly absorbable.

Zilis products have a patented water-soluble formulation and have been clinically tested for absorbability. They have been shown to have a blood concentration of over 90% for at least 12 hours. This means you need to dose less and the effects are felt for a longer period of time.
